HKISSC Paid a Visit to Crew Members in Panda Hotel
香港國際海員服務中心工作團隊一行4人於2020年7月4日前往熊貓悅來酒店探訪等候換班船員。
A work team of 4 from Hong Kong International Seafarers Service Centre(HKISSC) visited crew members who were waiting for crew change in Panda Hotel on July 4th 2020.
據了解，自2020年6月8日港府宣佈放寬海員換班限制以來，越來越多的航運公司安排在港更換船員，香港已成為業界公認的五大國際海員換班中心之一（其他四家為塞浦路斯、吉布提、菲律賓、新加坡）。中心工作團隊探望了剛剛下船的兩位菲律賓船員，介紹了香港國際海員服務中心的工作情況，並向其贈送了中心宣傳單張與紀念品。兩位菲律賓海員感謝中心工作團隊的探望，並表示一定會將對香港商船高級船員協會及香港航業海員合倂工會成立香港國際海員服務中心、為廣大國際海員提供服務的信息向同行們傳播。
It is known that more shipping companies successfully completed crew change in Hong Kong since Hong Kong SAR authority announced to relax the restrictive policy towards crew change on June 8th 2020 which made Hong Kong become one of five major global crew change centers recognized by maritime industry (the other four are Cyprus, Djibouti, Philippines, Singapore).
During the visit, the work team had a conversation with two crew who were just signed off from their vessel to gain better understanding on their works, living condition and needs . In return, the team introduced to them the HKISSC and presented some leaflets and souvenirs of the Centre. Two crew appreciated the visit paid by the HKISSC and they promised to share information of the HKISSC by MNOG and AUS and our services to other colleagues.
中心工作團隊此次探訪系通過康毅有限公司船員代理歐陽毓文先生協助安排。據歐陽先生介紹，目前來港換班的國際海員主要來自菲律賓、印度、烏克蘭、俄羅斯、克羅地亞等國，其中約80%入住熊貓悅來酒店。他的公司自6月中旬以來每週都要完成10-20艘船舶的船員換班業務，平均每天安排30多名海員換班。
This visit was arranged and assisted by Mr. Au Yeung, the General Manager from Conice limited, a ship agent in Hong Kong. It was noted form Mr. Au Yeung that introduced that those who are arriving Hong Kong for crew change mainly come from countries like Philippine, India, Ukraine, Russia and Croatia, and about 80% of them would stay in Panda Hotel. Since mid-June, his company had facilitated crew change for 10-20 ships every week, in average more than 30 seafarers per day.

The Centre delivered supporting letter and the epidemic care pack to seafarers
當下，全球疫情仍不容樂觀，本港疫情持續嚴峻。香港國際海員服務中心高度關注海員的生命健康權。为此，中心最近通過國際運輸工人聯盟香港海事屬會協調委員會（ITF-HSCC）向廣大簽約海員發出慰問信並贈送口罩夾、消毒紙巾等防疫用品。
Globally the COVID-19 Pandemic is still clouded with uncertainty and the epidemic in Hong Kong remain severe at the moment. Hong Kong International Seafarer Services Centre (HKISSC) highly concern the seafarers’ rights, in particular their health and safety. By means of this, the Centre recently conveyed the support letter, together with the epidemic care pack with items such as face-mask folders and sterilization wipes to seafarers covered by HK Collective Bargaining Agreement through the ITF Hong Kong Seafarers’ Co-ordination Committee (ITF-HSCC).
